May 27 - Part 2

And two more revamps.

May 27

This week we have a lovely medieval gown, with a hint of gaelic trim for you. Detailed with unique flex prims, it comes with 2 skirts, and our color scripted veils. On the other end of the spectrum, we have a lovely silk and burnt velvet evening gown. it too comes with two skirts. Finally, we're going back to some of our older designs, and revamping them - adding options such as alternative skirts, bodices, sleeving, using the things we've learned and been inspired by in the last year to update them. We think you'll like the new versions even better. Everything from 2006 is now priced 100L or less. But note: this is in the main store only for now.

May 21st

I hear some people complain about doing custom work. And while it can be painful, I enjoy it. Every time I do something for someone, I come up with something, I think, a little better than normal.

Here is a gown I created for someone. The original was the cream and gold. But of course I had to add a few different versions in different colors.
I reworked the skirt prims on both the slender and larger versions. That, is the bane of my designer existance. If I make a large skirt, I'm told they want a small one. If I make a small one I'm asked to make a larger one. It's too large, it's too small, etc. So I try to make a variety. :)
In this case I pared down my normal ballgown skirt and did a couple of unique things to get the trim to display correctly. And in the slender skirt I did the same. Aside from this, these skirts are three layers of my normal skirts. One for the underskirt of lace, one which is a solid texture, and the other the gown texture with an alpha layer gradient, getting the blend to the waist that I prefer. I've discovered that I like having the non alpha layer beneath it, I don't get that visual bleed that SL tends towards with transparencies.

Shoes!

Now, theses are not released yet. I'm still playing around with textures and things. But here are my first shoes. :)

Veils

I think these turned out nicely. Flex, with a soft silky texture. Two veils, worn together, the outer one is jeweled. They're color scripted as well.

Celestial Collection

These I owe inspiration to Paisley Beebe, who came to me and asked for a gown to wear for her performance for the International Space Station.

And in part, I owe inspiration to Celebrity Trollop, who said "Wouldn't that look nice in a midnight blue"... :) I also created a knee length full skirt.

May 2nd

Wow, April went by fast!

I have a lot of things to post here. Some of them I haven't even put up for sale yet. But we'll start with the ones that I have.

I had some great success with a jeweled veil and some fur stoles. I'm very happy about that. I've also been busy with some custom work - I created a coronation robe and gown, and another ceremonial gown, and now, I'm working on something for Paisley Beebe (a fantastic Jazz singer btw) for a show she's doing for the International Space Station. Silver and planets and stars oh my!
I was also a part of the Merovingi Clothing Fair. What fantastic weekend that was! I meet so many new people, and so many other designers - I really felt a part of the community. And all my friends came out to see me. I haven't been that social in a long time.

I won Best New Designer in a contest they were running, and I'm very honored. And grateful. The prize was 500 prims in a store for a year in a prim location. I'm /very/ excited about it and will post more details soon.

Ok, now for the dresses. :)
